Waited for quite a long time to write my next post and here I am at an extremely intriguing new place, 1173 km away from home, where I am set to spend the next three years of my college life; Pune City.
A thriving metropolitan, Pune is a hub for businesses and academia and represents a splendid fusion of posh lifestyle and life of the interiors of the city. Pune has magnificently preserved its history, cultures and traditions even after globalisation knocked at its door in the 1990s and transformed the city for good.
Located near the western margin of the Deccan Plateau, the city experiences frequent rain showers and refreshing winds which give people all the more reasons to come and live here.
Many adventurers indulge in trekking activities to disparate places in and around Pune. The treks on these gorgeous lush green mountains are remarkably thrilling and the paradise-like feeling at the summit is totally worth the effort and time one puts in.
Shaniwar Wada, Saras Baug, Sinhagad, Shinde Chhatri and Aga Khan Palace are some of the iconic attractions for tourists to delve into the depths of history of Pune and Maharashtra.
A land of the youth and endless opportunities, one can find the best educational institutions, multinational companies, shopping malls, hotels and well the best of clubs and bars too.
The Maharashtrian cuisine is as zesty and spicy as one can imagine, it makes abundant use of aromatic and flavourful ingredients like peanuts, seeds and chillies. Vada Pav, Dabeli, Pav Bhaji are some of the few dishes one has to try while he is at the land of the Marathas.
It has been a little more than a fortnight here and I already love everything the city has shown me (not the traffic though) and I hope I wake up each morning, for the next three years, excited to explore something new!
Cheers!
Sounds like a fantastic environment to go to university. Best of luck in your studies. π

Your photo certainly agrees with your words: lush green mountains they are, indeed. Such a fabulous view, and Pune has so much else in its favour, too. I’ve heard others praising the university there and I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful three years of study, while you enjoy the ‘posh llfestyle’! π
